I ordered a couple of 20 round M1A Mags from Check-Mate Industries this past week. Figured that as they made them for the US Military I'd give them my business direct.

They came back to me and told me that it would be two or three days before they filled my order. OK, a bit 'odd' but so be it.

Got an e-mail from them a day later stating that as they were in New York, I had to fill out a form to purchase "Hi Capicity' Mags from them. Apparently NY keeps records of all Law Abiding US Ciizens that buy Hi Cap Mags.

Thought about it and decided, Nah, not going to be made to feel like some second class citizen because NY doesn't like the Second Ammendment, so I cancelled my order and went elsewhere with no problem.

Just a comment for the group.

Great guys to deal with and FREE shipping. I have a few SS ones from them as well as the regular. May get a 25 rd just to have even though I'll probably never use it.

A quick follow up on my M1A Mag situation.

After cancelling my order from CMI on Tuesday, I placed an order with 44Mag Distributing, LLC out in Brookings, OR, they are at 44mag.com. The order was placed Tuesday evening, they shipped Wednesday, and when I got home from work today, they were on my doorstep. Same cost as CMI but, as Heyjowee points out, no shipping charge.

Come in a heat sealed blue rust inhibitor bag and are US issue.

OH, and CMI just sent me an e-mail today noting that my order has been cancelled.

Will certainly deal with 44Mag.com in the future.
