    Chinese Poly Tech SKS's ??

I am always seeing Chinese Norinco SKS's for sale. About a week ago I saw a very nice looking SKS marked Chinese that caught my attention. When I looked at it
I discovered it was a Poly Tech. I got to thinking I just have not seen any Poly Tech SKS's around. I like the SKS's and I am curious if anyone can shed some light
on if the Poly Tech are fairly uncommon. Just curious. Thanks!

I have more than a few sks and have never seen a polytech. I don't know if they are rare or not just never seen one.

This is a first for me. I got home, thought about it and called the gunshop and said put it in the back for me. I'll pick it up Friday.

I have three and they do look different as far as the barrel tool marks. Has rings and increases surface area. Might help with cooling. Mine are chrome lined and bought 22 years ago here in Des Moines Fun Shows.

I am thinking it might have been some time since any were imported, (yours were 22 years ago), and that is why I am not seeing them. Just a guess. This one has the bayonet, I believe spike.

All mine have the surgical shaped spike bayonet. Helps with the penetration I suppose!

I have a Norinco thats really nice, it doesn't look to be fired. I found it a few months ago in a pawn shop $250 I could not pass it up. I have seen that more people have Norincos not many polys come to think of it. Someone correct me cuz Im sure I'm wrong but aren't the two companies like just about the same? One thing I do know was that during importation of these rifles many of the importers had to cut of the bayonet lug (evil feature) so you might want to check that out.

Mine were bought long before or maybe after the evil import tardness. Can't have a bayo lug but ok to buy and carry a machete! Makes perfect sense to a monkey!;-)!!!!!!!

I would have to research it, but my understanding is Norinco and Polytech are two completely different companies.
