    Type 99

    Japanese Arisaka Type 99. Got it in a trade a few days ago!

    Nice find! It looks like some one has highlighted the engravings/stamps in white. Most have the "mum" ground off, so that is a real plus. Can't tell if the front sights have the wings.
    Now the trick is to find some cheap 7.7.

    If you reload you can make 7.7 from 30.06 or 270 cases. Really an easy deal. I have 500 rds made from them and they are great shooters and accurate

    I did the markings, trick I picked up from years of Luger collecting (lacquer sticks and galaxy markers) It's not permanent.

    Yours are nicely done. I have used these on guns with good results. Actually sold in our farm store ($1.25) to mark cattle hides, so has to be very durable and dries hard.
    It comes in several colors and also not permanent.

    Just don't use the yellow on your guns Buck, stick with the white
