    300 blackout seating

I'm fairly new to reloading. So far I've only done .223.
My question is that I'm going to be reloading 300 Blackout and I've made the cases from .223 per specs and I have a 110gr bullet that I am using.
I tried a practice round and with using the Hornaday specs on case length and OAL for the bullet I'm only seating the bullet .132" into the case. Is this OK? I can't pull the bullet out with my fingers. Should I crimp it?

loading for an AR or a bolt gun? whuch 110grn bullet are you using because AR's hate the 110's from sierra. Try seating to a OAL of 2.1 or 2.2 I forget what I used since I am out of town. Best bullet is the nosler 125grn BT for supers.

edit- if using the hornady 9th manual the dems are incorrect. Check the hornady site for the correct OAL.

I think a crimp is needed on any semi auto rifle.

This is for an AR. They are Sierra Varminter...crap. I currently have the OAL as 2.05 per the Hornaday 9th edition. I'll check their site for the right dims.
What kind of issues do the AR's have with the Sierra?

Stay with the 115,110 Barnes for supersonics, go with 208 amax or 220 Hons for subs....... I play with 147 tracers at 1500 fsp but just love to use the 208's. No seating issues, no real crimp becuase your compressing most of the powders used on any of those.

I've found that all I need the crimp die for is to squeeze the belled brass back into place. When I measure the case mouth after that it's always a bit under what the dimensions diagram shows. The case has a good hold on the bullet. I load .223, M1 carbine and 7.62 39 rifle rounds. My .303 Brit, on the other hand, I use the Lee factory crimp die. Go figure.

Guess I have to see what I can find out there. I got the Sierra because that's all I could find available.

Personally I like the .308 M80 pulls. They are about 147gr and they have the cannalure. I always crip any round that I will be carrying in mags that are loaded into a plate carrier or LBE vest. I usr H100 powder at about 16.8 grains and seat the the cannalure....easy! Gives me about 1900fps good out to 250-300 yds.
