    GP-11 Storage

I am going to order some GP-11 (7.5 Swiss) ammo. My preferred method for moderate length storage us in US Ammo cans with dessicant packs.

Can anyone tell me how many boxes of GP-11 fit in a .50 Caliber can and a .30 Caliber can. Also which is a "better" fit?

(hopefully this weekend I'll take some photo's and start a new thread in the bolt action forum wink-wink-nudge-nudge-know-what-I-mean)

    Probably not.

I have ammo cans stacked in a closet. On the front of the can is a "key tag" with caliber and round count. For example --- .22 WRM / 750 --- .30-30 / 200---

Makes it quick and easy to see what I have onhand. Plus I find it is easier to stack and store identical containers.

I write the caliber and sometimes the country,R for Russia,H for Hungary, on the front and top of the ammo cans.
    I use a Sharpie.
If I need to change the label a little denatured alcohol takes the ink right off.

arghh these darn tough ammo questions... I think a brick or two fits in a 30 cal can with some room left for the cardboard clips... maybe more I can't recall where mine is right now, but I do remember it was a 30 cal can and think I only bought $60.00 worth or so...
