    Handguard Heat Shield

I've got a Century G3 w/thin plastic forend. It doesn't have any kind of aluminum heatshield in it. I was wondering if anyone has put foil tape on the inside as a heat shield. I'm thinking it would be easier than trying to figure out to mount a piece of bend aluminum. Any suggestions?

Tape will slide when the adhesive gets warm I think but aluminum is easy to work with. Do you see yourself actually shooting that much to create a problem?

You never know! I was thinking of trying steel silhouettes.

Easiest route is to get a wide HG from RTG that already has an aluminum heat shield. It should go right on a G3 clone but a cetme will require a little modification of the HG with a dremel. Process for that is in one of the stickies I think.

You could make something really cool out of aluminum tubing if you have access to a milling machine. I've considered doing that, but for the lack of free time

Thanks for the idea! Don't have a milling machine, but a tablesaw with a fine tooth blade & a cradle should work.
