    8mm mauser stock

I am new to this site but am wondering if I could get some help on figuring out what model this 8mm mauser is? I need to order a new stock but have spent a lot of time trying to figure out the model with no luck.

I can not make out the details very well. Can you get a more clear larger pictures of the details and also the whole setup. At first glance the rear sight doesn't look like any military ones I have,
more of a civilian appearance. Is it a military mauser? Is there any markings/crest on top of the receiver/barrel? Looks like some writing also on the bottom I can not make out. I have a fair number
of mausers from many countries, but nothing is clicking with what little I can see. Little more details maybe something will fall into place.

    BTW, welcome aboard!!

Hard to tell but maybe a Swedish Mauser model 96 or 38
It would be better if we could see the markings and date on the top of the barrel near the receiver.

Ron, a milsurp Swede should be pretty easy to ID from the markings on top of the barrel, but of course we can't see them if they are there. Oberndorf is in Germany. A lot of sporting mausers for
hunting, etc, over the years were made there, in addition to military guns. They did make military mausers for countries other than Germany too. I think the sights look civilian-- I maybe wrong?

I hope these help. There is nothing on the top unfortunately. It has a civilian stock that was cracked in 3 places but I do no my brothers used it before the damage years ago.

YEA! If it was Swedish it would not be 8MM.
    Also, Welcome to the site.

There looks like lettering on the bottom of the barrel, what does it say? I would think somewhere on it would also be the caliber. Mausers were made in many different calibers. I take it your brothers said it was 8mm?
Again, I am pretty sure it is a civilian sporter, not military. Can we see the civilian stock that was on it too? Any marking on it?

We have another 8mm in good shape. Maybe I'm assuming it is one too but will have to ask my bros tomorrow. The lettering on the bottom is 1b6 14 then the same 4 symbols that are next to the 59398. I'll get a pic of the stick tomorrow night when I have time. Thanks for taking the time with this.
