    8mm Hakim Test Fire (Video)

Had a 8mm Egyptian Hakim out today and decided to test fire it. I had never fired it before, or for that matter any Hakim. I was pretty pleased with the results. It seemed to handle soft points
well, moderate recoil and looks like it will be fairly accurate. This was the last full size battle rifle the Egyptian's used before going to the AK47. BTW I had to delete the first post as I could not get
the video link to load right. Hopefully this one will.

Hey Buckshot it's a Hakim. No "w" and they are very fun to shoot. I have 2 in my collection.

Thanks! I have no editor on my system - I almost always make some typing mistakes and I am always latter correcting something (lol). I corrected the spelling on the post, but the system will not let
me correct the title portion. I was reading about Hawken rifles last night, so my fingers really wanted to type that "w" (lol).

Thanks for the vid Buck, I bought one back in the mid 80's for around 100 bucks and shot a couple thousand rounds of what was then cheap 8mm mil-surp. Great gun... lots of fun, just don't stand off to one side when some-else is firing it...the brake blast will blow your hat off.

Me like bunch....Willing to watch more too.
I've never thought much about those rifles before but I can see that I'm going to have to have one now.

Thanks for the video Chief. I have never owned one. I have shot a couple and they seem like a good rifle. Looks like yours is going to be a keeper.

Thanks for the comments. I never thought of the Hakims being a rifle I would want to use for self defense, etc, but after shooting it I have changed my thoughts on that. Throwing out 196gr soft points (or FMJ)
it definately has some firepower. Next the up on the range list is one of the 8mm Egyptian FNs.

BTW thanks Mods for correcting my spelling on the title!!

Sweet! Thanks for that. Ive had a couple for many years. Same thing, never messed with em. That's gonna change. Been timid of corrosive ammo in these. Glad to hear it uses softpoints.

Buck I really enjoyed this film, that rifle is fascinating (finger eater too) Your group was pretty good for off hand with a rifle you have never shot before. I worked on an Egyptian Combat Engineers captain's place. The man fought in both the 67 and 73 wars, crossed the canal in 73. He told me that rifle was not popular, heavy and would give the Egyptian version of our M 1 thumb. I could have bought one in the 80;s but that dust cover business bothered me. Even the gun store clerks were intimidated and afraid of mashing their fingers.

Still I should have bought it, it looks like fun. You just have to take your time and learn her ways

We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union
