Found a neat WW2 shooting manual.

Found this at the local antique mall, $5. 1943, first edition. All about the M1 Garand. Lots of neat pics and training info, shooting positions, sighting in, windage, and lots of other stuff. Some funny stuff as well. 1943 thinking I suppose.

That is quite interesting, and shows that we also used propaganda on our own troops. My dad, who turned 18 on Henderson Field Guadalcanal told me that in training they were told that the "Jap 25"-Type 38-was very under powered-hell, it was only a .25- and very inaccurate, and the Japs could not shoot accurately any way.
And right in front of me is a Kar98K, CE 43, which is a J P Sauer built in 1943. It certainly does have elevation adjustment, but yes, no windage.
Very interesting to find war period literature and see that back then, we weren't a bunch of wimps without the courage to say what really needs to be said. Thanx for posting this, wish I could read it all now.
Oh, the US M1 is certainly a better rifle than any it came up against at that time.
