    Gun Part ....... OR Not?

It's sort of a game I find myself playing.

Dad passed back in November. I inherited a few firearms, reloading stuff ..... and miscellaneous parts.

Dad was also into cars and model railroading. I just sold a nice racing mirror for Bugeye Sprite and a shift knob from a 1961 VW ......

Anyway, some items are not readily identifiable ... to me.

So .......... This was on the reloading bench. Gun Part .... Or Not?

Wonder what it's from. We never really worked on any engines with injection .... We had a 1981 Datsun 510 andn '85 Toyota pickup down to the block but we didn't work on fuel delivery issues ....

    Hmmmm

Datsun 510 timing chain tensioner and you're missing parts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLEVITE-9-50...n/302238109671

I was curious, but not enough to really apply any serious research to find out.....Moleman has astounded me by digging up the answer so quickly. Back to the meaning of inquiring minds and an urge to find answers. You have proven to be the original go to man for info. I'm impressed and hereby felt need to pay a compliment for your deed.

    Ha!!!

The 85 Toyota extra Cab pick-em-up was apart for just that issue ....... the chain guide disappeared and we had to replace the tensioner too .... and the chain!

So .... eh .... Dad .... Why was this part, from work we did in 1995, on the reloading bench??

Now that I think about it .... that 81 510 Wagon might have received a new tensioner assembly too.
