    My Battle Belt, version 1.0

I got this to go with my PTR 91 GI rifle.

The components are all made by Condor. It has two double-mag, open-top pouches; I re-worked the shock-cords to fit my G3 mags better. I also got a roll-up dump pouch. It opens out to 8.5" H x 8" W and will hold five G3 mags. It is OD green.

This was the first time I've ever ordered anything from marsgear.com, but I was impressed. The prices seemed comparable to other sites, but they offered free shipping. I placed my order on the afternoon of the 17th, and got it Priority Mail from California to Georgia today, the 20th.

    My Battle Belt, version 2.0

Today I received my Condor H2O pouch:

And the 40 oz klean kanteen that fits it perfectly:

And a Condor ammo pouch (which will hold five G3 mags):

Here are those two new pouches on the belt:

Then I attached the Condor H-harness that I also got today:

and modeled the ensemble while my son took photos: (please ignore the T-shirt, gym shorts, and big belly)

    My Battle Belt, version 2.1

After wearing the belt for a few minutes I noticed that the ammo pouch with the five G3 mags was really pulling down on the back of the belt. Since the belt only had two rows of molle, but the back of the H-harness had three (and the loops seemed smaller), I decided to move the ammo pouch onto the upper back:

Iíll just have to try it and see how it works. Iím really surprised at how much heavier five 20-round mags in one pouch feels compared to four mags in two double-mag pouches, one on each side. Stay tuned, there may be a version 3.0 around the corner.

FYI - 5 loaded G3 mags in the Condor ammo pouch weighs 7.4 lbs.

    My Battle Belt, version 2.2

OK, I've put the ammo pouch back down onto the belt; however, I've moved it up one molle section and that seemed to better support the weight:

With one mag already in the rifle, that would give me 200 rounds of .308/7.62x51.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you, so...

But seriously, the belt with the double-mag pouches, and the dump pouch, would/will be really handy if/when I'm shooting outdoors without a bench or table nearby. I typically shoot 60-80 rounds per range trip just by myself; that's 3-4 mags right there.

The same principle applies to the H2O pouch also (gotta stay hydrated). I've watched several videos were people have strapped it to their backpack when camping or hiking. Others have attached a shoulder strap to it and turned it into a small day-trip bag.

And, just because it's labeled as an ammo pouch doesn't mean it can't carry something else. Even without the removable elastic slit cover, the Velcro flap with snaps would secure anything you put into the 7"H x 6.5"W x 3"D pouch.
