Rise RA-140 SST: sub $100 3.5# drop in trigger

One of the joys of being out of the states and unable to keep up is finding all the cool stuff when ya get back. I just got my hands on a Rise RA-140SST last night and dropped it in. Took it out today and I am impressed. No creep, smooth pull, nice crisp break, and a good short reset with a satisfying click. For the price IMHO this is one of the AR upgrades that is money well spent, very well spent. I don't have a scale to put it on but it does feel like the 3.5# neighborhood.

The MSRP is $129 but you can get them for $99 shipped if your shop around. In this instance I got mine off of fleabay.

Good looking trigger, good price too. I like the already assembled triggers, so easy to install.

I like Velocity Triggers. 3lb Drop in. MSRP is $149. Tom Vehr is a good guy to work with. I've been selling Velocity at the gun shows for a couple years now. I've had repeat customers and people telling me how much they like it. No creep is the biggest thing. His straight bow trigger doesn't look as cool as some of the others, which is a bummer.

I've never felt the Rise, but it's probably comparable.

There's a LOT of drop in trigger cartridges out there now, which is a boon to shooters because we reap the benefit of competitive pricing and quality. The one thing I did notice is that there's not a lot of bad press out there on any of them other than nitpicking little stuff like the trigger shape, i.e. "should come in both a straight and curved trigger". If the prices keep dropping on these we'll probably start seeing them bundled in build kits instead of standard triggers.
