    My UZI carbine build.

So, I just received my UZI kit in today from thedave8, thanks Dave! Looks to be a very good condition kit. He also sent me an Israeli 25 round mag. This will be a first time UZI build for me. I will post lots of pics as I go and all the links to parts and prices. There are a few mods that I will have to do on some of the existing parts to make the ATF happy, I will cover those as well. Going to take me a few months to get this thing put together so bear with me. If any one has any pointers or advice, I will gladly except it.

Everything I got in the kit.

Some parts I have all ready received, barrel shroud and semi-auto sear.

Looks like a nice kit. You gong to stay with 16" barrel or go SBR with it. It is a pain waiting on the stamp, but IMHO the 16" (vs 10.5" military) barrel does not look natural on the Uzi.
I have 2 Uzi's, one F.A. and semi with a suppressor and they are a hoot to shoot. Dang, I had a site to order semi auto stripped receivers for Uzi, but recently deleted it. I got 32rd mags
and mag pouches from RTG. Get the cloth (canvas) mag pouches, they look nicer and much better than the plastic ones. Good luck, keep us posted on progress.

Going to stay with the 16" barrel for now, hence the barrel shroud. I don't like the look of that skinny barrel sticking out there by itself. The only company that makes fully welded up semi receivers is McKay and they are out of stock with a bunch of them in the build stage. Nodak used to make them but no longer do.

Thanks, I will post up with pics everything I do along the way.

    Scott,

ive got that same barrel shroud on my carbine build... these are awesome guns & a hoot to build. you will find out that they are super accurate for a 9mm.

only drawback on these: they are friggin HEAVY!!!!

Yup, I just had to have that barrel shroud! Lol! It's built very solid.

I have heard they are pretty accurate for what they are. And yes, very heavy so far. These things are built like tanks. Should be good for quick follow-up shots, with the heavy weight and low recoil of the 9mm round. Shouldn't be much muzzle rise at all, if any.

I think this will be very fun to build and shoot. Most likely will be the only one at the range with an UZI carbine as well.

They are a solid gun, but the weight is centered over the pistol grip and they are easy to handle - mild recoil - I can easily one hand fire mine.
