That's exactly what I am going to do! Put a couple of hundred rounds through it then tear it all apart to put the finish on it this winter.

Edit: It's at my LGS! I'll go get it tomorrow at 10am when they open.

Sorry for no updates in the last 3 weeks, been really busy with family and work. I will post up pics of what has been going on with my UZI build.

First, the receiver. Very nice build quality on this Mckay receiver. Everything is fitting good so far. In these pics I already have the sights, top cover latch, barrel nut catch, and sling swivel installed.

I wish I could weld like that. Lol

This is a fully welded Mckay receiver. Complete and ready to put all of the parts on.

    ^^^ heard that!

its nice to be able to do one from scratch. just like in the early AK days or 0% AR's....

but its really hard to do as good of quality as the receivers you get from these guys now days. they do have an 80% that you have to weld all the stuff into & no FFL.

Yup, no way I could weld one up that good. Also would need a jig to get everything aligned correctly. Too much time and money involved to build one or two.

Decided to polish up the feed ramp a bit on it. Why not?
