    HPA Hearing Protection Act news.

Looks like the HPA is going to be incorporated into the SHARE act. Also the LAWFUL PURPOSE AND SELF-DEFENSE act that deals with ‘‘armor piercing ammunition’’.

Thinking there was now 2 different bill versions of the hearing protection act in play, plus an amnesty bill which would allow the grandfathering in of a few more F.A. milsurps
into the NFA data base. Not sure with everything being in gridlock how much will get done? I have some hope BATF on it's own may try to ease restrictions, due to 2nd
in charge white paper on subject. If we are going to get anything now is the time with Republicans holding both House and Senate, loose one of them to Democrats in 2018
and they (Dems) will likely stop any action on the bills.

Yes, it all needs to get done now. If this window of opportunity is missed, it might be many years before another one opens up.

The SHARE Act passed a house committee on Wednesday. One step closer.

On Tuesday, September 12, The Sportsmen's Heritage And Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act was heard in the House Natural Resources Committee. Following a process known as "markup" on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, the bill was passed out of committee in a 22-13 vote.

Yup, that would be nice. From reading about it, all of the opposition to the SHARE Act is related to the "gun" stuff in it.

The backroom story is that it will pass, you will still need a $200 tax stamp but cans will be the same as a firearm. Fill out a 4473 and get a tax paid printout.

I will know for sure if they send me new 4473's

I will gladly pay the tax if I can walk out with it after a dealer background check. I also suspect it will pass, big thing is getting it in and out of the committees. Once
it passes committee they can slip it into almost any bill.
