    TEC9 on Logic Ind 80%

This is the still in the white look at this but the "work" is done.

Its one of CoolHands 80% aluminum lower for these little fellas & it took me about an hour to finish it out to firing from his 80%.

The build thread is at WG, but if anyone here is gonna do one of these & wants to see it? i'll throw it in here too.

If ya got questions have at it.

Interesting. Can you buy a parts kit or something to build these or do you have to make all of your own stuff?

I shot one back in the day, I couldn't believe how accurate it was, even with those crappy sights, dead on at 25 yards and one jagged hole.
    I love you guys...

what it is .. the uppers seem to last no problem. but the poly/plastic lowers were early in the game & many people who shot them alot had failures of the lowers.

resulting in lots of uppers around for sale.

CoolHand(Ryan) is a CNC & CAD guru & he laid out a 80% lower in aluminum for these that he sells & what you see is me knocking it out for a "different project" than the usual old builds. only took around an hour doing it by hand.

what you see in this pic is after i adjusted it for my shorter upper.

its not a tac driver or even a viable survival weapon.... but it is something else you can say you did yourself with minimal tooling.

Not familiar with them, what are they 9mm? What kind of mags do they use?

    price of the upper?

anywhere from $100 to $200 for a good complete upper & usually you get a mag with it.

he's raised the price on these now to $355 for the lower... so its not the cheapest thing to build..

but to have one of these in all metal instead of the poly that was prone to failure? i had to build it.

as to shooting? ive put about 100 (2 50rnd boxes) of wolf thru it & once i got done tuning on the upper it is rolling right along.

had to change out the trigger/sear pin. the factory one bent. so i used a 8x32 bolt shank to give me a hardened pin. :-)

Have you put a finish on this yet? Just curious.

Edit: Looked up a Tec9 for reference to compare.

    Scott,

just got home from knob creek. GREAT SHOW THIS TIME!

while i have shot this thing a bunch playin around with it... have NOT put a finish on it.

still debating shortening the back of it up a little bit & making it a little lighter.

this one will probably just get a flat black cerakote finish since its aluminum & steel combined.

got a fella who is doing a clearance on the poly lowers if ya want do go that route... $10 each!!

for me & this tinker toy build, ive decided that yes im gonna take some more weight off of it at the back (see circled area)...

From what CoolHand is telling me this will cut about 3.25 oz of of the weight. (the ring at the top is steel is why)

then go to a "cooler" looking grip & it should be ready to finish coat.

while these arent a pretty gun, it is a way to stay building while doing something different & refresh an old set up.
