NODAK makes some early mag that fit well. They sell the shell and you have to install the inside.
I am on the list to get some if/when they make another batch of them. They have been out for a few years on them.
I think your talking about the curved ones that didn't fit well.

Those are very cool! I really want one for my A1. I contacted them about the next possible run. They told me they don't know if there is going to be one or not. I have been on the list for 2 years. I hope they make some more.

I started looking for the hardest to find parts first.
I have them now in my hands. Picture of them posted.
    1. rear sight drum.
    2. Front sight base.
    3. Hand guards.

This is going to be a very expensive project and may take a while to get all the parts together.
I have some of the parts, now just to find them.

I just noticed in the picture the weave in the red cloth is close to what I need for the stock.

Great idea for a project, always liked the style for the early AR 10 so this AR 15 will be interesting to see the final product

We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Update: I was able to find (2) 601 lowers a few weeks ago.

I will post a picture of them later.

This is a very slow process....

In the picture above I may try to modify a set of Israel FAL hand guards. I have some (SOME WHERE) in storage.

Picture of hand guards on one of my Israel FALs.

I have a couple of 604 uppers in storage I am planning to use on both of the builds.

I found a guy that is going to make me a "cross hatch slip ring" and a "single ring slip ring".
These were used on the very early Prototype Rifles.

    Pictures when I get them.
I don't know how log it will take him to make them.

Nodak sold out of the prototype hand guards a few years ago.
I talked to Mike a while back and there are no plans to make anymore.

I am hoping that BROWNELLS will be making some of the prototype parts to sell.
