    Eclipse Any Plans?

Just realized this is only a week away (21 Aug). Pretty rare event. Some of our neighbors in Missouri will get 100%, but down here more like 93-96%.
Seems a fair number of people traveling to get in the ideal spots. I will be staying put, but definitely out to see what I can see. My luck it will
    be cloudy (LOL).

I think here in northern Minnesota it's only supposed to be around 65%.

Going to be 100% right over the top of me for about 2 minutes. Going to throw some stuff on the grill and watch the whole thing.

    I don't have any plans
The path going to miss Virginia completely

You guys who live in the path don't forget to wear your special 3 D eclipse glasses
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Last full eclipse I remember I was in grade school. It was a big deal back then. It appears lots of folks will be traveling to get in the right spot (100%)
for this one. The full eclipse only last a few minutes, so it is a short show.

I'm about 5 miles north of the center-line. Supposed to be 100% for 2min 32sec. Should be pretty cool.

I might go out and have a look if I have time. Busy couple weeks though.

Ironically, I'm working the next ridge over from the National Solar Observatory, but it's winding down and building a fancy new telescope in Hawaii. The one remaining solar telescope here will probably be doing something special for the eclipse, but none of that is open to the public.

You are one of the lucky ones, just take out your lawn chairs and enjoy the show.

Yup. Going to throw some sausages on the grill and sit in the layout chairs by the pool!
