    Hurricane Harvey

We are about to get spanked by Hurricane Harvey. Supposed to be a cat 3. I did a cat 5 called Hugo back in the 80's in Puerto Rico. Hurricane party tomorrow morning (breakfast), then hunker down. Roger.

Yea! Not to far from you by water. (8 miles from the Gulf of Mexico)
Just hunker down for a few days and try to stay dry.
We have been moving plants and lawn furniture for the last 2 days. (when you get old it takes a little longer.)
We are as ready as we are going to be, except to drag out the generator in the morning and crank it up just incase we need it.
We keep food, supplies and water in stock for when ever needed.

Ron, according to our local news, it is sliding farther north by the hour. It is wobbling toward north of Rockport.

    Yep! sliding this way.

Yea! We are going to be on the dirty side of the storm. They just posted 15" to 25" tomorrow or the next day. (30" plus in the next 3 to 5 days)
It will be what it is.

I need to pull out some steaks out of the freezer for the next few days to grill and smoke a brisket.
If it is not raining to hard in the morning I will run over and get some fresh corn on the cob to grill. (6 for $1)

We seldom loose power ( Underground cable)
We have natural gas and are close to the pump station. So we have not lost sewer "yet"
the only problem is the real high water and winds.

You could not buy a kernel of corn here. It will be a week or two after this before we see food on the shelves. I got lots of dried noodles, Vienna sausage, and canned ravioli. So once the freezer thaws and we cook all the thawed meat, i think im ready. I have plenty of bullets for the bad stuff that may come our way, but kinda concerned about the 1 to 3 feet of water in the safes (house).

When the storms come, we eat the cold stuff first (Except for the steaks), then frozen (don't open the freezer until your taking something out, do not open it to check it), then canned. then when it is over we restock.

I'm not planning to evac either. Boarded up this morning and got more food/water.
The only thing bothering me is that I've just finished putting up a 10'x12' and a 10'x14' storage buildings and won't have tie downs come in for a week. This one has caught me with my pants down. Oh well. it's out of my control.
I feel safe enough from bad things with my trusty single shot .22 and four boolits. Stay safe.

Same here - looks like a lot of rain. Be safe and will be thinking of you.
