So if you agree to the Equifax website terms of agreement to see if your affected, you have also opted out of any class action lawsuits. Equifax is like a damn Cartel.

SDK, in my case, nothing. I got a letter from OPM stating my information was compromised. I immediately froze my credit and opted out (again) from pre approved credit card offers. OPM provided free credit monitoring which emails me with any alerts on my credit. Scares me some times, because they email me about sex offenders who move into the area too. Great info, but when you see the email hit the box, you think what now.

wife gets friggin lots of credit card offers every month. (we just keep everything paid off & use that notification approval thing before a charge is processed.)

The Equicrap management needs to be put in jail. For years they apparently did not even employ a dedicated person to ensure data security. It is almost certain that all the information got out because they did not apply patches to the systems they used for their internet presence. That it IT security kindergarten and the complete IT team should be put in jail for giving a sh.t - there is exactly zero excuse for what they have done. If that was a "social hacking" breach (either by having a criminal in the organization that as part of his/her position required access or a dumb user providing access to a criminal), that would almost be something to accept, not having the basic security processes in place is utterly pathetic.

Enough ranting - my information got out as well, I consider the monitoring service useless as they will not do a lot for you and with having ALL of my personal information besides maybe when I took the last shower, there is no much greater risk for identity theft possible...

Someone got my card info again, about three weeks ago, so I have a new card again. My credit score is lower, too. And the site provided here says my info was affected. I signed up for their service incase they are somewhat effective. I thought the site said doing that didn't keep from joining any legal actions against them. My wife believes Facebook, so I guess we have a 50-50 chance on who is right.
