    9/11

Not taking away from the weather and fires this country is dealing with now, I have to publicly "Remember" today as the day that I privately remember every single day. Being in the Army as a 63H in the late 80's to 12 yrs in the Fire Departmen and 7 yrs with the police, I remember All that gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country and the ones they swore to protect.

Thanks for taking the time to start this thread.
I knew one of the causalities from the Pentagon, an Army Master Sergeant who worked in the personnel records branch.
We met while we both served in Army Space Command and he was in our brigade S-1.
He was instrumental in working thru the details of my retirement and went to bat for me over some benefits.
He was working in the outer ring of the Pentagon that was destroyed.

I think I will take some time today to reread the names of the casualties and remember that day...

I have been watching the news all day today and the dedications to all the 9-11 reminders.
It all comes back quickly as you watch what happened that day and the country coming together for a brief moment in time.

So sad to have to be reminded, but sometimes it is best that we are.

Hard to believe its been 16 years, until I look at my almost 17 year old. Never Forget.

My two youngest still at home were to young at the time to remember it well. I can remember everything (like it was slow motion) from the time I was told about it and the days that followed. It
    is etched in my mind.

I had the day off and was watching the news when they started reporting that a plane had hit the WTC. Saw the second plane hit on the live feed. That moment is SEARED into my brain. Took a couple seconds before it dawned on me that this was an attack. I have never watched it again... GOD bless those who died from the attacks and those who have given so much since.

I was stationed at FT. Bliss at the time. Just got home from PT and was in the shower when the wife came in and said a plane had crashed into a building in New York. Came out to watch the news in time to see the second one hit. Then the phone started ringing from base. I'll never forget it.

It doesn't seem like that long ago. I still remember where I was and what we were doing as the news come over the truck radios. Never Forget Never Forgive.

I went to the 15 year anniversary at Ground Zero, very solemn moments.
