    GOOD

I think that looks great! You should not have a problem selling those as kits with the retro craze and all.

BTW, I see as part of that kit you have "rectangle port door (New made)". Where do you get those? I need one!

In the next week or so I plan on posting some kits or parts for sale in the "For Sale" section.
They will only be offered here for a couple days and if they don't sell I will move them some where else to sell.

This is just a heads up to start doing your research on parts cost now.
Don't forget to add in the shipping/insurance cost for individual parts, it adds up very fast.

I have done my research already.................

    Be ready.
    Have a good day.

I am going to do the kits first and if there are any parts left over I will be selling them.

Good "D" stocks are getting really hard to find now.
If you are using an A1 flash hider on it you can use the "E" stock.
Just a thought. I like the "D" stock on them the best.

The problem A1 "D" stock now is the bottom of the barrel stocks and the sling attachment on them is really rusted.
To change it out you have to remove the roll pin.
The roll pin on them has rusted and the rust "welds" itself to the plastic.
When trying to drive it out it will shatter the stock. Not a good deal.
If you find one for sale, be sure to ask for some good pictures of the sling attachment.
(both sides of it). Navel jelly or anything else does not help much on it from what I have been reading

Brownells is making some retro style parts now.
When they offer them up for sale they usually sell out in a day or so.
Nodak still is making retro parts. uppers and lowers and a few other small parts. (6 to 8 months+ waiting list).
A few other vendors get in retro parts and sell out quickly.
It can take a year or 2+ to gather up parts to do a build. It will depend on how close you want to get it to original style.
The foreign made parts are a hit and miss. They are getting much better now in the last year, but not all of them.
Watch out for "AIR SOFT" parts. some are good some not so much. Some will work just fine and some not. again a gamble.

Today I got to thinking about the actual cost of building a Retro- AR15's clones. (more Research)

So I spent all day building a spread sheet to track my cost to build the kits on todays market.
Using all commercial parts except the stock, hand guard, and pistol grip they would be original. ( Brownell has a commercial set for less than 1/2 price of the original set)
yesterday I ordered several sets from Brownells to try them along with the lower retro receivers.

It was more than I figured it would be to build a mid-grade rifle or carbine.
$847.50 plus at least $100+ shipping when buying the parts from different vendors.
This does not include a stripped lower receiver.

    Some hints:
It would still take a while to gather parts.
    Maybe several months.
If you get in a hurry and don't watch for sales it will cost more, maybe a lot more.
If you find a part you need "BUY IT" it may not be there when you are ready for it or need it.
( I try to buy parts for the next year or two builds)
prices would also depend on what grade of parts you buy.
So there are lots of variable in parts and not all are equal.

My brother is looking for an upper to build a GUU-5/P type rifle. I'm not familiar with retro ARs so I was wondering if you had the proper upper for that type and if so what you'd want for it.
I thought it might be a good Christmas present.

Sorry, I don't have any extras.

If you can find the upper, Depending on condition the Colt upper will run $250 to $350+ for a stripped one. ( no sights and no port door).

This is what he will need to build one.
    USAF GUU-5/P
Prior to adopting the M4 the USAF upgraded and modernized their GAU/5/As and GAU-5/A/As for the M855 ammo.

    Good luck!
