Could be wrong, but looks like a refurb'd James River Armory Remington 03-A3. No longer in production. They were around a few years back. Auctions/for sales I looked up were in the $800.00 range.

    That's nice! I wouldn't mind having it.

I don't know a whole lot on the history. From what I found on the web the James River guns had this mark put on when they were refurbished. Maybe someone could add more?

If the stock is authentic RRA would stand for Red River Arsenal and the "P" in the square would be a rebuild stamp. It would have to been heavily sanded as original cartouches
appear to be gone. Is there any traces of them on the stock I can not see??? Since it would be a military rebuild it might have some mixed parts in it, but it would be authentic military
rifle. The history of the rifle (if known) may help, as there are many fake stamps out there. I lean toward it been authentic, but--. It is a nice rifle. It has been a while since I bought
    one, but guessing $800-$900 range.

BTW I have seen the same marking on a RRA rebuilt M1 Garand stock I have. The difference is it still had the old circle "P" and side cartouch marking visible.

FJA was the initials of the head (military) inspector, you can look up his full name if you wish. My guess is that James River reproduced the original stamps on their gun stocks, but the
guns would also show they were reproduced by them somewhere on them. In short, the stamps maybe fake, but they were not trying to fool anyone.

added: FJA = Lt. Col. Frank J. Atwood, Army Executive Officer in charge of Ordnance Procurement

Looks like a very nice example of a USGI Arsenal rebuilt rifle. Would say $750-$800 is in the range
