Took a little doing, but I found some on my old photobucket account (and now the computer is running a bit funny)

Cool. That's nice, I like it. I guess it still needs the front metal put on for mounting it?

Thanks for finding the pics and posting them. I am very interested in this.

Yeah, it needs the cap on the front, the bipod clip cutout made & clip installed, the bipod leg grooves cut, and sanding & finishing. Its just wetted down with alcohol for the picture to show grain and color.

Like I said though, Dave gets first refusal on it - I'll give him a call over the weekend and see what he says.

    Sounds good, thank you.

Edit: Also I wouldn't need the bipod clip cutout made & clip installed or the leg cutouts on it, I have no intention of installing a bipod. Just the front mounting piece. I would also like to do my own finishing to match my other wood. These things should save you some steps and time.

I'm still interested in this project. Any word on finding the time yet?

Hey Michael - I'm afraid the day job situation didn't improve much, the guy we were hiring to help fell through so we're just getting to interviews again. Amazing how slowly this stuff moves in a university. So I've been busy with summer maintenance at the telescope, just now getting to the home stretch (when I have to fix everything that doesn't work after being torn apart and put back together). If next summer doesn't quiet down considerably I'm going to chuck this job and find another!

Anyway, did you source any wood for the HG?
