Hey, blame it on the barrel and then I can sell you one of my N.O.S. 1903-A3 barrels still in RIA (Rock Island Arsenal) wrap (LOL)

Great pics and a good looking old war horse. Have a good time at the range and I hope it serves you well.

Lol! I hope this barrel will be just fine. Bright, shiny lands and groves. Not a spot of anything that I can see in there. Also muzzle bore gauges at a solid 1! I'll post a pic of that as soon as I can.

Thank you sir! I'll find out this weekend, if it's not raining the whole time.

Just picked up some more ammo for it and the range tomorrow morning. Academy Sports had a sale on Federal plus they sent me a $10 coupon yesterday.

Pulled the bolt apart the other day in preparation for the range. It had obviously not been taken apart since rebuild, it was completely full of packing grease. Here are some pics of it after cleaned up with identifying markings and styles for Smith Corona. The bolt assembly is all SC.

It's hard to research Smith Corona parts. First of all, there is not near as much info on them as Remington parts. Second, most parts on SC's are unmarked.

SC cocking knob. Wide band under knob.
    SC03a3bolt-1.jpg

SC rounded corner safety and bolt profile.
    SC03a3bolt-2.jpg

SC 'G' marked bolt head. Gothem Steel I think.
    SC03a3bolt-3.jpg

    SC 'X' marked bolt handle.

More Smith Corona parts ID on mine.

I hope that this helps people in the future trying to ID SC parts on these. The info on them is hard to come by and loosely scattered everywhere. I'm trying to put it all in one place.

    SC 'G' marked front sight.
    SCmark1.jpg

    SC 'S' marked extractor.
    SCmark2.jpg

SC round cutout for rear band spring. Remington's is square cut.
    SCmark3.jpg

SC corse hatched buttplate. SC is aprox 11 squares per inch and Remington is aprox 16 per inch.
