    Fishing on Pond

Had not stocked the pond for a few years, but then again it has not been fished in a few years. I had to cut free loaders off, as they all abused the privilege.
Anyway, last evening my long time farm partner and his wife, took his 3 little kids down to fish in it. I got the little red head started and holding her
first fish. Surprised that cat were striking on spinners, some big fish in there, but little poles/light lines would not hold them. I know there are plenty
of big channel cat, need to stock some hybrid bream this spring.

Big kid (partner) caught some nice crappies.

It was a lot of fun. I helped the little redhead catch her first fish ever! She caught on fast and was casting like a pro within no time at all. Just used
spinners and and plastic worms, but really did not need anything else. Just catching and releasing.

Most property owners learn the hard way when you try to be nice and let a few people hunt and/or fish on your property it almost always gets out of control.
The freeloaders seem to quickly forget the rules and begin to think it is a right. I could tell you some stories about some of the thing's they pulled on me (LOL)

Yea! I had posted a story earlier about what had happened on my Mom & Dad's place letting friends and family hunt.
    They ruined it for everyone.
    I deleted it.

Great pictures Buck It is nice to see kids having fun outside. Also the grass looks bright green down there, seems Spring has really started Arkansas
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Nice crappie and sunfish. Never caught a catfish before but theres a bid festival a couple towns over that promotes them.

Most of the cat in the pond are channel cat, not the ones with big heads. Crappie should start spawning soon, good time to fish for them. Also caught a couple of medium big mouth bass, but
there is some big ones in there too. Kids poles and lines could not handle the really big ones. If fish truck come thru I will likely get some hybrid brim that grow pretty large to put in there.
Keep a few grass carp in there that keep it clean. They get huge!!
