    Cetme 5 round magazine.

Picked up a Cetme 5 round magazine yesterday at a small town gun show. I had been thinking about getting one anyways. It was sitting right there in front of me on a table, so I bought it. Offered $20 for it and the lady accepted.

Cleaned, oiled, and loaded. I like the patina on this one.

In the PTR. Nice low profile. Should be good for bench shooting.

That's cool. You would think there would be more of them around. This was the first one I have seen in all of the gun shows I go to every year.

Some stores in Europe market them as "PSG1 sniper magazines" (and try to charge accordingly), despite the mud caking it inside and outside.
Seen them ocasionally from 7 to 35 euros, but none in the last year or so.

I used to see Spanish solders with them in 1978.

This one was staring me in the face for $20, so I bought it.

Mostly used for parades or (less frequently) guard duty. But I'm talking 80's and 90's (and nowadays the "gastadores" squad).

Cops used them for projection rounds for launching tear gas and rubber projectiles. Don't know if they still do, but some still carry the CETME C on special services and alerts (with standard 20 rounders).

Nice to know some of the history of these. Thanks.

Why were the 5 rounders developed in the first place? They don't seem "practical" for a wartime weapon.
