Had so much I froze some. I just got this Chicken of the Woods off the base of a older Oak tree in front yard. I will clean it up, cut it into strips and fry it.
Use it as a side dish, eat it like french fries (LOL). Good stuff!!

Just got this big one in my woods just off my lane. Spotted it driving up. Must be 18" across and weighed over 10 lbs. Some

Started finding some morels down below today. Just quick look got around 40 and this was my half. Had shorts on, need long pants for briars, etc, so will go back tomorrow.
They seem to come in early down in lower area, should be up on hill tops areas soon.

I've never had them. They pretty much just taste like any other mushroom?

Not at all. They have a very unique, almost "meaty" taste. Nothing taste like the Morel. So good!

We went out today in force, check old hot spots and many other places and only found one. I think it is still a little early, but yesterdays find got us excited. Experience hunters
often strike out, but when you do find them it is like a slice of heaven (LOL).
