Finally, l took my C308 to try it at 50 yards at the range today. To my pleasent surprise, it was hitting about 6 inches high dead center. I adjusted the front post one turn counter-clockwise and fired 5 rounds and it hit dead center in the red with the 100 yard open sights. I shot a total of 30 rounds and it stayed consistant, except for a couple that were flyers. In conclusion, I was nervous buying one of these because of the century build, but all it needed was a bit of tweeking. I may put original wood furniture on it next year and that's all. Thanks to all of those who gave me some much needed advise.

I took the rifle apart and cleaned it today, then rechecked my bolt gap and have lost .004 shooting only 40 rounds. I'll have to keep an eye on it, parts have to settle, in total I've putt about 100 rounds down range. Today, going to pick up some that Malaysian .308 ammo cans at .40 a round, seems pretty reasonable.

    Nice, that's convenient.

Midway is about 15 minutes from me.
