Yes, it is possible ( I am thinking now it was a pet) that it was a pet and got loose or one that laid eggs in the area.
It seems to be pretty tame to me. We checked the neighbor hood for anyone that had lost a bird and no one knew of anyone.
But we have seen a couple others now in the back yard.
There are a lot of them in the Houston area and down this way as more housing development is moving them more south.
I have been reading on this and Texas has a lot of feral parrots all over.
The county I live in is one of the largest bird population in the United States. I didn't know this until I started reading up.
It is on the bird migration path between Canada and South America and it seem that many get here and just have stayed.
People come from all over the world to watch birds here.
The more I read the more I find out.
