I spent the majority of my shop time this week working on the trigger linkage and I finally got a decent trigger pull. The first design I tried used a large roller that pressed against the trigger same as a finger would. The trigger pull wasn't much different from a standard Cetme trigger. The problem with it was that it hung down from the rear housing too far and impeded the paddle mag release. My second attempt had the trigger cut off short (1/4"?) and a linkage added. It worked, but the trigger pull jumped up to 10~12 pounds because I lost the leverage the long trigger afforded. All that work was done on the fly, that is no engineering was involved.

So earlier in the week I measured all the parts and laid them out in CAD and within a few minutes had the new pivot location figured out. I cut up another Cetme lower housing (so I had the old one to use it things went bad) to add the new pivot mounts. It's hard to believe how much of a difference it made. I've had it measure as low as 2.5# but currently have it set to 3.4#

    New housing on the bottom:

The new linkage made the old guards obsolete too. I'm getting a lot of practice welding outside corners on .035" sheet metal with this rifle.

I'm really looking forward to some range time next weekend to try out the much improved trigger.

Love your build posts - neat to see how you work issues out and experiment. I will repeat myself and again say you have some real talent and your
    work always amazes me.

Sorry I just got around to reading your post. Your work is nothing short of amazing. You have skills brother.
You should get a blue ribbon for that work
I must say with the wooden forearm. Your rifle looks like late 40's early 1950's Cold war Spanish version of the EM2 bull pup

We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Norton, I just googled the EM2, that was a really slick looking rifle! I'm sure I must've seen pics of it last March when I was looking for FCG design ideas.
