The hard work, but worth it for some darn good jerky and also ground chili meat. Got 2 done yesterday and still have one hanging. It is below freezing at night and just above that during
    day so good hanging weather.

My good old boy renter Mike and nephew Chris at work. Yes, I did help too (LOL)

lot of work making deer jerky. love eatin it. lots of work.

    you gonna need more freezers!

we got lots of burger made up & some cubed stuff for stew... kept the tenderloins & had my buddy with the bandsaw cross cut some steaks for us. between that & the hog... we are out of room.

My farm partner's 9 year old got his 2nd buck yesterday on last day of youth hunt. We have taken 3 more deer since I last posted. I shut down hunting for the year. Only bow season left open now.
We got a total of 15 deer on my place, about evenly split between bucks and does. Not a bad take, no one went empty handed that I let hunt here. After not hunting for a few years we worked
out a system for processing out here, so next year will be better organized. Also one of the most productive areas of my farm I placed off limits this year as I had my brother's cows/calf's on it while he
gets his fences repair on his new place next to me. We did not get our winter wheat drilled in because to the commotion, but will this coming fall. That draws the deer in like flies (LOL).

I'd guess deer meat sloppy joe's. Think the Manwich tomato paste in the can stuff.

Good on you Buckshot for helping the friends fill the freezers.

    Scott,

one of the tricks for Deerwich is to not follow the directions on the can. we actually do 1.5lbs of venison & .1/2lb of beef per 1 large can of "spicy manwich" makes it stick together & keeps it from being drippy or runny.

    enjoy!
