You can see the tip of the extra barrel at the right edge of the open cover for the tools just below the SMG. These things were famous for having the ability to quickly change out a hot barrel during a fight and keep on fighting. I can verify this is unbelievably easy to do.

That arctic birch stock is very nice. One of the nicest I've seen in a long time. Well done.

Nice! Easy as an UZI barrel change! I wasn't aware of that.

I appreciate the positive comments. I found this stock with a parts kit. With the exception of this stock, all of the parts kit stocks and those offered for sale individually that i've seen (approximately 50 to this point) are plain.

No idea about what was on the plaque. I have two books specifically about the Suomi konepistooli M/31 and the Hitler gun is barely mentioned. The Finns are not proud of their partnership with Germany during the war but it was a matter of survival as Russia had attacked them once (and got their asses handed to them) and was a constant threat to do it again and none of the other world powers were helping.

Asked in other forums that have Finnish contributors and knowledgeable collectors of Finnish militaria about what was engraved on the plaque and no one knows!! Can't believe that someone didn't write it down. SMG location is unknown.
