They are T48 handguards. ( I had some left over from some FAL builds.) I forgot who made them.
    They were modified to fit.
The front sites were moved back.
The flash hiders are custom made by one of the members here. ( I think his name was Sweeny, he made a lot of custom stuff for me. These were the last two items he made for me. He died a few days later.)
I forgot what else was done.

They are buried in a safe now.

I like the A3 Stock, just put a piece of pipe insulation on it. Problem solved.

I don't find the recoil all that bad. Cheek slap was another story.

I am seriously considering the Choate side folding stock from RTG. Does anyone have experience with these? I like it because it is more like the fixed stock after it is unfolded.

I finally decided to order the Choate folding stock for my PTR. I also got a wide hand guard for it. I installed both of them today and am happy with the look of it.

Have you done any shooting with it on yet? If you have how would you compare to the standard stock?

I haven't shot it yet. It's too cold and windy for the next few days. Maybe get lucky and the weather warms up next week.

Today is a beautiful sunny day and a balmy 29 degrees. I took the rifle to the range today to try two things. First I wanted to feel the recoil with the folding stock installed and second, I wanted to try some Cetme magazines I bought from Centerfire a few weeks ago. The mags were listed as being rusty and offered at $1.99 each. I bought ten of them and was able to clean up nine of them with one being too rusty to clean. All of the nine I cleaned worked without a problem in the PTR. The final price per mag worked out to just over $3 including shipping. In my opinion not a bad deal.

Back to the recoil on the folding stock. I didn't think the recoil was any different with the folder than with the fixed stock. In total I fired 110 rounds, 10 in each of the Cetme mags and 20 in an aluminum G3 mag. I had zero failures today of any kind.
