    I do not have a picture of the vertical marking, which is to the right of the date marking.

    Unaware of any design changes, but the latest 20-round, steel magazine that I have seen was an HK magazine, with a date code of "II" (1988)!!!

    When did HK stop marking them vertical?

    My understanding is that the ones with date codes and not actual date stamps were commercial production? So if that is the case then military production steel ones may have ended before that?

    Floor plates changed over time for sure. I'm aware of at least three types among the magazines I have.

    Could you post some photos if you could please? And list the dates on them? It would be intresting if others would chime in and we could narrow down when the changes were made or if any others exist.

    The last/first 20-round, HK steel magazine that I have seen is 11/62 and "IA"!!!

    Looked through some of my aluminum mags. Found one with a vertical serial/lot number.
