    Here's a taste of the future

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/former-ma...-antifa-report

    Weapons seized under a red flag law due to a hot headed comment rather than an actual illegal action taken. How many people have made hot headed comments before?

    It seems that your rights, secured under the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 8th amendments mean nothing in Oregon, and are soon to mean nothing throughout the US when Congress passes and the president signs a red flag law under the pressure of frantic shrieks to "do something". Thanks to the press and the libs, your bill of rights is going to become a bill of privileges, not secured by limitations on government and enforced by the judiciary. Instead they are granted grudgingly based on some dusty scrap of paper and will be revoked in a heartbeat if you do not toe the line of the ever changing twitter culture that seems to command the .gov these days.

    And yet antifa protesters seem to be lightly punished. Is it ANY WONDER the bulk of americans do not respect the government? When you do not behave in a respectable way, you can expect to not earn respect. Why should it be different for a government than it is for any individual?

    In Portland Antifa doesn't get punished. they may get arrested, but it's a revolving door at the Police Station. As I've said before, most politics are really local, and in this case it was Oregon laws used. Without recourse against the person that reported them, there is no true 4th Amendment anymore. That's why during a discussion we had here I pushed to remove both Law Enforcement and Judicial immunity from any red flag law they propose. When the authorities have skin in the game then they'll be much less willy-nilly to use such tyrannical tools.
    The answer to 1984 is 1776.

    Maybe I read it wrong, but did not seem he made a criminal threat. Saying you will respond "if" attacked is not a specific threat. Anyway, under Red Flag Laws you don't have to make a criminal threat
    just be deemed scary. I/we do not like the way you talk, look, etc, so turn in your stuff. On top of that he was court ordered into 20 day V.A. evaluation, which is a loss of his freedom. Again, there
    maybe much more to this than what is in the article, but on face value it seems very iffy.

    Seems every day I see members of the unhinged left making the same kind, or worse threats, against those they disagree with, but never see them suffer any repercussions from their vile/hateful/threatening
    public remarks.

    Anyway, depending where you live (this case was Portland) it probably be wise to be careful on what you say or do in public and on social media.

    Right along with Hillary & Obama!
    We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other. - John Adams, 2nd U.S. President -
