Wow - we really need a few more posts here! So I made it to Knob Creek again last fall and came home with an MG08 Maxim kit. It's a DWM built in 1918 and was all matching parts. After 4 months of fabrication it is now a functioning semi in 7.62x54r. I used a 1910 barrel and a few Vickers parts to accomplish it.

I've put some rounds through it but as a WW1 reenactor it will mainly use blanks. Same effect - costs a lot less!!!
Take it to the 'peaceful protests' & 'uncompensated shopping' and watch them scatter.... Of course don't forget sandbags & such.... Beautiful work and a real prize worthy of any collection..., and in a cannon caliber too.
