    Enfield 410 project.

So Iíve wanted an Enfield 410 for a very long time but could never find one when I had the money. I recently saw a face book post and one on here about the ones Century has been selling. I ordered 3 fair incomplete with bolts and 2 poor incomplete without bolts from Century. Also because of the horrible wood condition I ordered 2 DP rifles from J&G. J&G shipped very quickly but Century kept having issues. I cancelled my first order and reordered the muskets. Well guess what showed up today? 10 muskets, 6 fairs and 4 poors, donít worry tough they billed me for both. Anyway I should have returned one but I figure hey I can get rid of what I donít use later so I took them all. Glad I did. The shipment I had canceled had 2 very good ones for restoration. Those were slathered in cosmoline and basically rust free. Both need fore stocks and 1 needs a nose cap and but stock. On a side note these 2 were actually graded at poor incomplete. I definitely have enough good parts to build 4 or 5 decent muskets with a pile of parts left over.

So hereís what I got in the boxes.
    1911,1914 and 1918 Enfield's.
    1914, 1915, 1917 and 1918 BSAís.
    1917 SSA
    1920 and 1921 Ishaporeís.

My DP rifles are a scrubbed Brit and a 1946 GRI.

The 2 in cosmoline with the chamber flags are not import marked while all the rusty one are CAI ST ALB VT marked. All the hangtags and shipping papers say they came from Springfield Sporters. The DP are Springfield Sporter also. Between the 10 muskets I have 9 bolts, 8 nose caps, 9 butt plates, 10 trigger guards, 5 usable butt stocks 4 usable fore stocks, 9 complete safeties, 4 front bands with sling swivels, 10 rear sling swivels, 10 complete sets of sites, 2 usable rear and 3 usable front hand guards and tons of small parts. The DP rifles are complete and the parts arenít DP marked. In fact the only thing done to deactivate them is that the chamber has been drilled and a rod welded in. The bolt heads were never welded and the firing pins are still intact. In the pictures below the first 4 are the poor incomplete the next 6 are the fair incomplete and the last 2 are the DPís. 43CFFD03-119C-44BD-B80C-EAB589BB1D05.jpgF4CCA5AB-11CE-47AB-B511-4A74F79E5129.jpgB9AC6C2C-3C97-47DD-9130-EBE33129234E.jpgCB5E26A3-5C8F-4A31-B09B-3A2BBC7BB0C9.jpg

I have picked out 4 to keep and am passing the others along. I only wanted 5 to begin with. I have finished the first two of them because these two were easy. I do need to go back and turn the site protectors around but they are done and came out nice. I left some of the drill rifle markings in the stocks because I think they give them some character and I’ve seen others with the white stripe.

Well I’ve finished 4 now and sent the others on to good homes and now have a nice pile of leftover parts to keep my Enfield’s running for years.39F962C9-44A8-499E-8C00-843568B3A755.jpeg I kept the 1911 and 1914 Enfield’s and the 1917 SSA “Peddled Scheme” and an 1921 Ishapore. The bottom one is the 1921 Ishapore with matching numbers but check out the nose cap, no holes on the sides like the others. Looks too early for 1921. Must be a restamp.
