    I have a 686-6+ which means its a 7 round .357; mine has a 3" barrel. I really like it; 3" is a perfect carry size barreled gun. It shoots too!

    wifes carry gun is .357....... a lot like Cheifs.. hard to beat perfect reliability!

    scottz63, Told you the 686 was on the short list of revolvers I was looking at. This one followed me home today. Have a few hundred 38's loaded up, will have to crank out some 357 before the weekend.

    Edit : Just noticed that your barrel is a slightly different finish/polish than the frame and cylinder. Same as mine. I guess S&W finishes them separately before installing the barrel now. My older 80's version above has a perfect matching finish.
