The press has never been fully impartial in my lifetime, but since the 2000 election they have gotten progressively less interested in reporting on politics and progressively more interested in influencing politics. In that time elections have sometimes gone against their influence, and sometimes gone with their influence - does anyone doubt for a minute that the Benghazi attack would not have sunk ANY Republican incumbent president just 2 months before the election? Reagan wouldn't have survived that, but with the help of the wiling media, Obama sailed right into a second term.

The trouble is, these people who just follow what they hear in the hour or so of news they see daily are what Rush called the low information voters. They aren't stupid, they just have not sought out a clear picture of the political happenings in this country. People shouldn't have to go find alternate news to watch and then learn to balance each individual source with the others to try to determine an approximation of what is likely the real story. They literally have better things to do with their time - like earning a living (I know a lot of low information voters).

Thanks for the reply Jdowney ( I was beginning to wonder if anyone on the forum cared about the "disgraceful" state of the 'news'? )
Most of us grew up with ABC, CBS, and NBC as the source of the news. Since Cronkite started with his opinions on Vietnam in the '60's it seems the media has become more biased. Not sure why they are all so Pro "Left" unless it is solely due to their sources of funding? I don't watch the news anymore but I truly miss the old days when the news did not push an agenda.

I talked to several people who ONLY get their news from MSM ( older folks ). I have questioned some of my family members who had no idea about some of the $hit Biden & Kameltoe have done! I do agree that many more well informed people knew and didn't care because they just didn't like Trump's personality!
