    Howdy from Texas

Howdy all, FNG from Texas. I am a Navy and Army vet (learning disability? ) from the way back, and have been a military firearms casual collector for decades. I just picked up the new MarColMar CETME L, mostly because of the excellent reviews and coverage by members of this forum, (Combloc for the win).

I served with a fellow in the Corps who'd previously been in both the Air Force and Army. I doubt he went into the Navy afterwards, he was getting kind of old (relative to all us teenagers back then) by the time I knew him.

    Welcome!

Surprised, you hardly ever hear of someone leaving the AF for another branch, like the CG.

When it was time to re-enlist one of our Warrant Officers (WO-4) somehow transferred into the Coast Guard so he could retire in Florida.

The Marine I knew did his Air Force time during the Vietnam war. His job was taking the film out of the belly of the SR71 at a base in Thailand. Not sure what he did in the Army. They did make him go through boot camp again for the Corps.

Welcome aboard. Did an internship in Galveston in '96-'97 - hopefully you're someplace warm like that, and didn't lose power a few weeks ago!
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other. - John Adams, 2nd U.S. President -

I am in the DFW area, and had iffy power for a couple days in depth of the polarpocalypse, but my leftover marshmallow suit and experience in the more typically frigid parts of the world made the experience more entertaining, rather than uncomfortable!
