We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other. - John Adams, 2nd U.S. President -

I just received the firing pin removal tool and a couple of different height front sights to play with if needed. The firing pin removal tool worked great. The front sights are 0 and +.030 The one on it is a -.030

Found another buggered up screw. The rear trigger guard screw. It was bad enough that I could not properly tighten it the whole way. These are hard to find not buggered up. I have been looking everywhere to find a good one. Finally found one from Numerich.

I just passed on one of these at the local pawn shop because the bore looked like the surface of the moon. Glad to see you got one that is shootable. Do these rifles have whittworth screw threads?
Gun control is the ability to hit the target.
Indeed, most smle rifles have Whitworth threads... I keep a bag of 2ba screws around just to replace the "lost" ejector screws... bought a set of taps n dies Fer my left handed/polish error I mean my british bike repairs... they may not be the sexiest looking rifles, but they just flat out work! P.s. I'm still envious, that's a nice piece! If I found one dated 64 I'd hafta get it! I'd care not a what if the bore was gone... new bbl would be a pleasuerable day project..
I had 2 of these rifles at one time, but sold one and still have the other. I also bought some Indian (made in 1970's) ammo cans that had .308 on stripper clips for these guns inside of bandoleers. This was about 20 years ago, 400 round cans for $69. I haven't shot mine in years though.
