Chrome Battle implements or my Gatís

I didn’t want to hijack WildBillCody’s thread about chrome rifles so I am posting mine here.
    Top down

    1918 Remington 1917
    1942 Springfield M1
    1954 Springfield M1
    1944 Underwood M1 Carbine
1944 RR frame Ithaca slide 1911a1
    1942 S&W Victory

To the left is a 1906 Springfield 1903 I am working on putting back together.

Still looking for a few chrome parts to finish the carbine and the 1903. Carbine needs a chrome slide, trigger housing, trigger, safety and of course chrome bayonet. I also have a white cloth sling on the way for the carbine. The 1903 needs a nice stock, complete barrel assembly with sites and the machined barrel bands. I have chromed 03a3 barrel bands for it for now but will eventually what the correct ones.

So I have to ask, cause I'm wondering about mine, are they chrome or nickel plated? Btw you could have posted them on my post.

Interestingly enough, chrome is more like a "clear coat". The "deep shine" most people think is chrome is nickel below and then chrome is the protecting seal. (gives depth as "chrome" is more expensive.)

I do not know for sure what any of them are really plated with but I suspect the Garands are nickel due to the dullness of the parts where you can’t see them.

The local antique mall had a chromed Garand bayonet for a long time, not sure if it's still there anymore.

I do know that the "shineyness" of the parts has to do with the level of shine before the plating, in other words a dull part will never be as shiney as a polished part after plating.

I am planning on replateing the Buttplate, front sight and my bayonet, once I get it up and running I may be able to plate your stuff as well. I have all the ingredients.
