The only foolish thing is that you didn't sell it to me! Garand is next on my list, I gotta bunch of .30-06 ball ammo that needs to be fired!

You got that right...selection was very minimal yesterday and I feel it will only get worse.

Just go to the CMP website at http://www.odcmp.org . They have links to their rifle selections.

    A couple Garands

Actually it's only one Garand with two different stocks, One is original and very rough. The other is a re-sanded original from Numrich that I gave a hand rubbed Tru-oil finish. For you purists, I kept the original stock to preserve the rifles historic authnenticity.

Nice 97th. How does that comp attach on the second pic? And where did you find those tan slings? Both stocks look excellent by the way.

***Disregard 97th. I see on the woody thread it is a Smith Enterprises, very nice. And I think I found the sling at sportsmans guide!!*****

I do the same exact thing; I purchase a 2nd stock to use at the range and to refinish however I like, while maintaining the original stock for it's historical value.

The sling came from Cheaper Than Dirt. I am looking for another one right now but CTD is out of stock at the moment. The brake is a one piece assembly that incorporates a gas cylinder lock. You just unscrew the gas cylinder plug, unscrew the gas cylinder lock, screw on the brake in place of the lock and screw the plug back in. That's it. I will try to find a file photo showing the brake by itself. They can be found in the Brownells catalog.
