    "30 degree standard locking piece?"

Is this the correct term of reference to the ordinary CETME locking piece?

    We just call them...

"locking piece" , be sure to specify CETME or HK...the mount points are diff.

There is only one style for the CETME; there are a few variants for the HK, due to their different barrel lengths. They do not interchange with the CETME.

The reason for different angles is to change the timing, since a shorter barrel has a reduced gas pressure spike or curve.

CETME was first, then HK as licensed to build their variant. There are some subtle differences, and the bolt group and trunnions do not interchange.
There is always room for another AK or 1911.

As with anything car or gun related, your results may vary!

Also the correct angle for the CETME locking piece is 50 degrees.

Is that what the '50' stands for on the locking pieces?

was doing some research and came across this thread, so since the hk51 requires a #18 which is 50 degrees then my cetme kit should be able to have a shorter barrel length and function properly?

    short answer is NO sava6e

do a search for HK51 on these forums, and there are a few threads with good info on how the Cetme design doesn't really like to be shortened. The locking piece may be the same angle, but the timing with a different bolt head and carrier are completely different. Many have tried and failed at creating a short barreled Cetme.

    Good morning rusty!
The locking piece that came with the bolt assembly I got from Apex is not marked at all, I wonder if is the correct locking piece, I got it just to have a spare and have not used it yet, so I'm wondering if I have the right one?

I've had 6 LPs at one time and only one had markings on it. They all worked and gap remained the same so must have been no difference.
