I've only dealt with Romanian and Chinese.
The Romanians load from the top like a regular mag. There is spring tension on the rounds just like a regular mag.

The Chinese mags have a removable back plate and a turn-key to wind back the spring tension. Once you remove the spring tension, you can drop the rounds into place from the back. Also allows you to store it with the spring tension off of the rounds and feed lips.

They are both functional. The Chinese are more expensive and can also be found in 100rd capacity.

I'm partial to the Chinese myself.

well like all drum mags and stick the bulit has to clear the front of the housing. mine dives right before it clears so it dead heads into the housing and stalls the bolt and pushes in the bullet.

this may sound dum to you....

but have you worked on that little swing arm that does all the pushing???

ive had a couple that this piece was real floppy and let the bullets do crazy things towards the end of the run...

if its doing it all the time im not sure as the whole asembly is rotating around and the bottom of the bullets is not moving.
