Here is my Springfield 1911 Ultra Compact I bought for CC and backpacking. The grips were made by myself out of walnut with a maple inlay.

I hate to admit it, but the only problem I've had with it was through my own ignorance. I was letting the slide fly after I manually loaded the chamber w/a round. I eventually had problems with casing extraction. I came to find that I bent the extractor. Since then I had the problem fixed and the gun functions 99.99% flawlessly.

It's not much of a looker but it's an awesome walker and talker.
This is a parts gun that a buddy put together for his son back in
the 80's when they were shooting bowling pins. I bought it and
have loved the 1911 types ever since.

Here are a couple of mine

1st is a Caspian, Hard Chrome, Wilson guts, 45 ACP

2nd is a Essex frame and unknown slide, 9mm

3rd is a Essex frame and 22LR Ciener conversion
There is always room for another AK or 1911.

As with anything car or gun related, your results may vary!
