Looks as if you guys have just about cornered the market when you have to search hard for it.... That and all of the new folks awakening after being spooked by recent political & civil events. Actually I find it surprising there's any left to buy anywhere.

Here's an idea for you. Get the oddball calibers out. When at the gun show last weekend my buddy Mark wanted to try something different this time. Came home with a Springfield XDM in 10mm. He only found 3 boxes of ammo there for $28 ea. Passed. We stopped at the LGS on the way home and found some brass cased Blazer for $20. Cheaper than SG has it. Of all the brass picking I do I "never" see any 10mm. SG does have some .303 listed and doesn't look like the price is up at all on that. Get the Enfield out.

ive eliminated all hard to get calibers & little used stuff..... (17, 25acp, 32acp, 380, 7mm mag, 300 mag, 40, 10mm, 450BM, 458sc, 16gauge, 20 gauge) well= hard to get by our standards in the hobby.

only calibers i keep/stock/store now are:

    22lr
    22mag
    5.45
    556
    5.7
    TOK
    30carbine
    308
    30-06
    7.62x54R
    8mm mauser
    357mag
    9mm
    9mmlargo
    45acp
    45 colt
    410
    50bmg
    12gauge

and "should" do away with about half of those, but just cant make myself sell some of the toys which have meaning to me or the wife.

I've been eyeballing a .40 myself. Besides, they'll be all the rage again the next time there's a high profile shooting where the news claims cops lost out against criminals in a gunfight because of their 9mm pistols, and then my 9mm will be the cheap stuff. It's a cycle.

Right now you have trouble finding 500 rounds of WWB 115gr FMJ for less than $300, but 500 rounds of .40SW goes for about $180 in the same places.

Basically all I have myself right now for calibers is .308, 7.62x54R, .223, 9x19, .45ACP, 7.62x25, and 12ga. And I'm looking to divest from .223 so I can focus more on stocking the rest. Plan is to wait until people get really antsy in October then flip my M&P15 with seven mags, some ammo and a 6+6 MOLLE mag pouch for $1,500, then put that toward new windows in my house.

I have been ordering up all of the "not common" calibers. 7mm Mauser, 7.62x25 Tok, and 7.5 Swiss as of late. Fairly common to us collector folks, but not so much to the general public.

    Scott,

you mean TOK is not common anymore? holy hell! i thought we all had several racks full of it from when it was sub .10 a round. LMAO

maybe i shouldnt have sold that bunch of it a while back?

whats next a 22lr shortage? (remember a couple years ago when they started that myth to boost the price?)

Weren't no myth, all the bubbas were swarming the sporting goods counters like so many orange-vest-wearing ants grabbing up every single round of .22LR they could get their grubby, short-fingered, brass-stealing hands on. You literally had to be on a mailing list in my part of the country to get any indication when the stuff was available.
